Water Aerobics Announcement

ALL WATER AEROBICS

ENTHUSIASTS

Due to the upcoming holidays, the last water aerobics classes of 2012 will be held Tuesday, December 18, at 9 a.m. and Friday, December 21, at 10:45 a.m.
We will begin classes again on Friday, January 4, at 10:45 a.m. From then on, the Tuesday classes will be held at 12:15 p.m.
The cost of each one hour class remains the same at $5.

Waterway Village January 5, 2013 Cocktail Party Ticket Sales Announcement

We know you are all enjoying this time with family and friends, but want you to know that the Social Committee is still at work with plans for 2013!!

Our first Cocktail Party of the year will be on Saturday, January 5^th at 6 PM.  We will be selling tickets December 27-29^th; and at the door the night of the party.  We want to know ahead of time how many will attend so we will have enough seating for as many as possible!

We are also in the process of scheduling our first Casino Bus Trip of 2013 which should take place sometime in Mid-January.  As we get an exact date and details we will forward them to you and have registration for that activity!

The Social Committee is  trying to bring back some of the activities you enjoyed last year—the wine tasting; boat ride; car and horse races; casino trips; murder mystery theater!  We are looking into some day trips to different places and shows, and a possible overnight casino junket!

We wish all of you a joyous HOLIDAY SEASON and a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!  We hope to see you at the Cocktail Party.

ALLSPICE was found this morning on Barbados Square after a chilly, scary night. She is home being loved and cared for by Jane and Tony! Thanks to everyone for their tips and best wishes in the search to bring our furry family member home safely!

Also, please pay special attention to the flyer about the Waterway Village Angel Tree. This has been a yearly tradition for our Community and we have never let the children of the Gifford YAC down. The economy is hard for many people, but please find it in your heart to do what you can to support this worthy cause. LOST DOG ALERT IN WATERWAY VILLAGE

A dog belonging to one of our neighbors is missing and with the temperature dropping it is imperative to try to find her.

Her name is ALLSPICE. She is a black, long-haired dachshund belonging to Jane and Tony Levinsky. She is very timid and may not come to you. However, if you see her, or have ANY information about her, please call the Levinskys at 772-492-8880.

Holiday Brunch Buffet 2012

Please see the attached flyer for this month’s book selection and book club meeting date (it’s usually the third Friday of each month!). Tickets will be on sale next week for the annual HOLIDAY PARTY to be held again at the DISNEY VERO BEACH RESORT on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2. Please see the flyer for dates and times.   As we did last year, we will have a HOLIDAY BRUNCH.  Tickets are $27.50 per person (same as last year).  This includes meal, beverage, tax and tip.  There will be a cash bar for additional “adult” libations!  We have a maximum room capacity of 114 guests and must give Disney our COUNT NOVEMBER 19th.  CASH ONLY PLEASE!!!!!!   If you have any questions, please call Arlene Nelson at 539-9127 or Lauretta Spadora at 562-8065.   We hope to see many of you there!

Please see the attached flyer for dates and times of ticket sales for the OKTOBERFEST party on Saturday, October 27^th.

This dinner party is being fully catered by The Red Rooster Café.  Tickets are $17.50 per person and are limited to the FIRST 72 RESIDENTS.  We will keep a waitlist for guests and others over the first 72.

 

We also want you to SAVE THE DATE FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17^th!   There is a dinner being arranged at the Clubhouse for the writer of a new mystery novel and only 72 of you will be able to buy your tickets to attend.  But beware, you may be drawn into the tawdry intrigue…perhaps become the suspect yourself at our Mystery Dinner Theater presentation of AUTOGRAPH OF A MURDER .

Details about the menu and ticket sale dates and times will be sent out and posted next week!

NEW WATER AEROBICS CLASSES

Yes, that’s right, water aerobics classes are returning to Waterway Village.  Our wonderful, former water aerobics instructor, Mary, has agreed to return to our community and lead us in water aerobics classes once again.  Classes will take place on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. beginning October 9.  The Tuesday 9:00 a.m. class may change to noon during the winter due to chillier mornings. The cost per class is $5. 

 

So bring your noodles, your water barbells, your towels and your energy to the pool and lets enjoy the invigorating and healthy exercise routine we’ve all been looking forward to.

Waterway Village Private Wine Tasting

We have a unique opportunity to partner with INLET WINES & BREW  on U S 1 in Sebastian for a PRIVATE WINE TASTING  at their location on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15^th from 6:00 to 8:00PM.  Owner Jesse Rijos and his staff are looking forward to educating us on the fine art of wine selection.

Tickets are $5.00 per person.  But here’s the deal…at the wine tasting each participant will receive a $5.00 coupon  which can be used that night toward the purchase of any bottle of wine or toward a glass of House Wine.

Entertainment begins at 8:00 pm with the acoustic sounds of Seth and Dianne performing some of the classics of Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, and Paul Simon to name a few.  So, you can linger and practice your newly learned skills over a glass of wine and a snack from their menu!

In order to keep the condition of the pool at The Isles at Waterway in pristine condition for the daily use by the membership, I have contacted the pool maintenance contractor and requested, along with the scheduled three (3) day a week maintenance of the pool, to also vacuum the entire pool on all three (3) scheduled days.

To allow pool access by the pool maintenance contractor,  the pool will be closed to swimming from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This time will enable the pool to be cleaned properly on every scheduled day keeping the pool water at the expected quality.

We hope everyone who is still here in Waterway Village will join us for a Fourth of July Picnic Lunch on Wednesday, July 4^th at 1:00 PM in the Clubhouse.  TICKETS ARE ONLY $10.00 PER PERSON.  We have to limit this one to the first 72 RESIDENTS to PAY.  We will keep a WAITLIST for all other Residents and/or Non-resident Guests.  If we do not make the 72 count, we will include those on the Waitlist!

We will be getting the food from SONNY’S BAR-B-Q!!  The menu will include Sliced  Beef; Smoked Turkey; Cole Slaw; Bar-B-Q Baked Beans; Macaroni Salad; Bread and Butter; and Dessert.  We will also have Iced Tea; Lemonade; and Water.  BYOB for anything else!  We’ll have a 50/50 Raffle, too!

And, because we’re starting at 1:00 PM, there will still be plenty of time to attend parades; stop by other parties and barbecues; and end the day watching the fireworks from your favorite viewing point!!  So, there is no excuse for missing this party!!  (Plus, you don’t have to cook!)

SECOND ANNUAL WATERWAY DOWNS AND BELMONT STAKES PARTY SATURDAY JUNE 9th

And they’re off!!

The 144th running of the Belmont Stakes could go down in the history books as the year “I’ll Have Another” wins the “TRIPLE Crown” OF RACING.  Join us at the Clubhouse on Saturday, June 9th to watch this exciting event (and maybe place a little friendly wager)!

In honor of this occasion, The Social Committee has coaxed the race horses out of the stables for the running of the SECOND ANNUAL Waterway Downs!!  No owners or auctions as we did last year and for the race cars…just The Lovely Jockey Francesca to return and guide the ponies to victory!!  We will take $1 and $2 bets and have a few laughs along the way.

And, as a nod to Belmont Race Track and New York, we will have sandwiches and salads for this party!! The only thing you need to bring is some betting money and beverages other than our usual Lemonade, Iced Tea, and Water.

The cost is $10.00 per person.  Please see the attached flyer for dates and times to buy tickets!!   If you attended the Kentucky Derby Party last year, or the Indy 500 Party this year, then you know what a great time it is.  If you did not attend, then you know what a great time you missed…so don’t let it happen again!!

RACE CAR AUCTION and COCKTAIL PARTY and INDY 500 WATERWAY ISLES 15 SPEEDWAY RACE PARTY

You loved last year’s Horse Auction and Kentucky Derby Party and Races!

 Well, Ray Heckman has done it again!!  This time it is SIX TURBO-CHARGED, HIGH SPEED RACE CARS ready for their performance on the hottest indoor Speedway in town---The WATERWAY ISLES 15 to be run on May 27th at the INDY 500 Party!!!

 We will auction off these six beauties at a cocktail party on Saturday, May 19th at 6:00 in the Clubhouse.  The bidding starts at $10.00.  The total purchase income from the sale of the six cars becomes the prize money for the owner of the winning car in the Owner’s Cup Race.

 The new owners will decide the make and model of their car; its features; sponsors; driver; corporate name, etc, just as they do in the racing circuit!!  The day of the races (there will be 4 in all) we will have some “friendly wagering” based on the information supplied by the owners!

 You don’t have to bid on a car to come to the Cocktail Party!  It’s $3.00 a person; BYOB and  a snack or appetizer to share.  We’ll have Lemonade. Iced Tea; Water; Ice; and paper goods.  The Auctions are fun to watch and spectators can influence the bidders with their encouragement!!

 We will begin taking bets for the INDY 500 at this Cocktail Party, based on the official published list we have as of Saturday Morning, MAY 19.  We will only take INDY 500 bets until Wednesday, May 23 at 1:00 PM.  Any scratches, eliminations or withdrawals up until post time will be refunded on Race Day.  You must attend the INDY 500 Party in order to wager on the Race.

 SUNDAY, May 27th is the INDY 500 and WATERWAY ISLES 15 Race Party!  IT BEGINS AT 1:00PM!    We will serve a yummy ½ rotisserie chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy; green beans; rolls and butter; and brownies for dessert (sugar free will be available for those requesting them when you sign up!)  We’ll have Iced Tea; Lemonade; Water; and Coffee.  We’ll run the four races; eat a great meal; watch the INDY 500 and spend a great SUNDAY afternoon together (and maybe even pick a winner or two!)   ALL OF THIS FOR JUST $10.00 per person!  BYOB if you want something other than the beverages mentioned.  We’ll have Ice!

Don’t miss these two great events coming up in the next few weeks!!  People are STILL talking about the Kentucky Derby Party…Let’s give them something ELSE to talk about!!

The Social Committee decided to  order our pizzas from MARCO’S PIZZA!  Each person attending will get his/her own 10-inch one-topping pizza (choice of EXTRA CHEESE- OLD WORLD PEPPERONI- MUSHROOM- OR MEATBALL) served hot and fresh in its own pizza box!!  We will start the meal with a Garden Salad and Marco’s Cheezy Bread and finish off with Luigi’s Italian Ice!!  Iced tea, Lemonade and water are included; BYOB for anything else to drink.  We’ll even have a 50/50 raffle!!

So come for a slice of Little Italy at the Clubhouse for just $9.00 per person!!!

Tickets will be on sale this week (March 29 and 30) and next week (April 2, 3 and 4) to avoid the Passover and Easter Holidays.

Joti and Steve Hahn of RED ROOSTER CAFÉ in Micco, once again, will bring their fantastic food and impeccable elegance and service to Waterway Village and transform our Clubhouse into an upscale eatery! For those of you who frequent Red Rooster, we are bringing them to you! If you have never been there, you are in for a culinary delight!!

Tickets are $22.00 per person and include a full buffet dinner featuring Beef Tips with Gravy and Onion Encrusted Chicken for the Entrees; Garden Salad with Steve’s House Creamy Dill and Mango Chutney Dressings; Fresh Rolls and Butter; Mashed Red Potatoes; Rice Pilaf; Vegetable Medley; and Gourmet Desserts (The word is Cream Puffs and Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream!); Coffee; Iced Tea and Water. All this served on fresh linens with glassware; dinnerware and silverware and with a staff ready to please.

WE ARE LIMITED IN SPACE AND THIS WILL SELL OUT SO BE SURE TO SIGN-UP EARLY!!

Our first Ticket sales will be during COFFEE AND CONVERSATION on THURSDAY, JANUARY 26^th from 10:00 AM till NOON, so come and meet your neighbors; have a cup of coffee and a little “nosh” (we have the BEST bakers) and get your tickets!!

And don’t forget to stop by the Models from 1:00 to 4:00 on Saturday to meet our potential new neighbors! Call Lisa and Bernie ahead of time if you plan on going!! Where are all you Eagle Ambassadors? You don’t have to wear your shirts, but you do make a difference!! Maybe we’ll get that Sound System for the Clubhouse yet!!
