Isles of Waterway Village Water Aerobics‏

ATTENTION

ALL RESIDENTS

INTERESTED IN WATER AEROBICS

We are still maintaining a regular schedule of water aerobics
classes for all residents – Mondays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. at a
cost of $40 per month (8 classes) or $7 per one hour class. As the
weather gets cooler, we will be changing the time to later in the
morning. We are also interested in adding a class on Wednesday.
If you are interested in a Wednesday class, please let me know.

Many times the weather is either too cold or rainy. In that case,
our wonderful water aerobics instructor, Pam, has agreed to do a
fitness class either in the clubhouse or in the fitness center for an
hour in place of the water class. Just wear appropriate clothes and
shoes instead of your bathing suit. This way, we can get in some
exercise despite the weather.

Let’s show Pam our support for this fun and invigorating activity.

See you at the pool!

Any questions, call Johanna Davis at 794-4464.

JUST A REMINDER!! TODAY, SATURDAY is the BIG DOG BARBECUE!!!   Weather permitting, the Smoker will be pulling up in the parking lot just before 5:00 PM with some of the BEST Barbecue you will ever taste!!  So bring your appetite and whatever beverages you may want other than Iced Tea or Lemonade!!  Food Service will begin about 6:00 PM to give everyone a chance to come in and find a seat.  We have a full house, so we ask that you please not rearrange tables and chairs.  Thanks.

Speaking of arranging tables and chairs…we will be meeting at the Clubhouse at 11:00 am to move furniture; set up tables and chairs and put out tablecloths; some cups; etc. and can use as much help as possible.  For the last party, there were only 6 of us.  We did it; but there were 46 other people who also enjoyed themselves at that party!!   The more helpers we have, the faster it goes!  See you at 11:00!

Finally, as you can see from the attached flyer, The Social Committee decided to turn the September Cocktail Party into a Pizza Party like the one we had in February!  South Beach Pizzeria will supply the Pizzas and Garlic Knots; we’ll provide the Salad, Dessert and Beverages; you BYOB!  It will be 3 slices of pizza per person again; choices will be Extra Cheese; Mushroom; or Pepperoni.  We are keeping it at $8.00 per person!! See you at 11:00 for set up.

If not, at 5:00 for the Barbecue!  Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for these summer activities.
We are exploring more and more new and exciting activities and would love to hear from all of you if you have any ideas!

WATERWAY VILLAGE SATURDAY, AUGUST 13th COCKTAIL PARTY; AND SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd LABOR DAY BARBECUE

The Social Committee has been busy planning more exciting events like these coming up in the next few weeks!

We know you love them, so we’re having a “Beat the Heat Cocktail Party” on Saturday, August 13th.  It’s $3.00 per person, payable at the door.  BYOB for beverages other than the Iced Tea, Lemonade, Water and Ice we provide!  Also, please bring an appetizer or other snack to share.

If you come to the Cocktail Party, don’t forget to bring EXTRA CASH ($13.00 PER PERSON, TO BE EXACT!) because you’ll be the first ones to buy your tickets for the Labor Day Barbecue to be held on Saturday, September 3rd ,  at 5:00PM.

This year we are having the picnic catered by Steve Wesley of Big Dogs Barbecue.  He will be cooking onsite.  Everything is made from scratch!  And the menu includes:  BOTH Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken; Baked Beans; Cole Slaw; Garlic Bread; Choice of White or Sweet Potato; Brownie (or Sugar Free Dessert if Needed); Tea, Lemonade or Water; and all the “Fixin’s”!  BYOB for ALL other drinks.  We’ll have Ice and Cups!   Also, bring a big appetite, because you are in for some of the best barbecue ever!
Some of their clients include:  Habitat for Humanity; American Legion; Indian River and Brevard County Schools; American Cancer Society; Florida Eye Institute and, soon, The Isles of Waterway Village!!

We have an exciting Calendar for the rest of the year which we will unveil in the next few weeks. We are still working on a few details.   We hope these activities will attract new residents to our get-togethers, keep our hard-core partyers happy, and welcome back some old friends and neighbors whose company has been missed for whatever reasons.

We also want you talented people out there who have been event coordinators; or volunteers for other organizations; or have worked on fund-raisers to get in touch with us and come to the next meeting.  As the Community grows larger, the tasks of the Social Committee grow with it.  In order to continue the activities we have and perhaps add more, we need additional people to help coordinate specific events or activities within an event.  We KNOW you are out there!!

So, please e-mail Arlene Nelson at arlenecnelson@comcast.net or Lauretta Spadora at cespadora@yahoo.com and tell us what your talents are; what you’re interested in; or that you just want to help!!

See you at the Cocktail Party and Barbecue!!

WATERWAY VILLAGE COMMUNITY UPCOMING EVENTS‏ - February 2011

There are so many things happening in the next two weeks!!

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the Pizza Cocktail Party on Saturday, February 26th! They are on sale THIS WEEK ONLY—TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the Clubhouse. If you can’t make it in at those times, be sure to call Arlene Nelson at 539-9127 or Jacqui Rizzo at 539-9761 to make arrangements to pay at another time. The Pizzas are coming from South Beach Pizzeria on the Island. YUMMY!! As always, BYOB!

This Tuesday, February 15th, at 1:00 in the Clubhouse, come join your friends and neighbors for a friendly card game called “HAND AND FOOT”. It’s like Canasta…but easier!! Come along and give it a try! Please bring a deck of cards WITH THE JOKERS and a copy of the attached rules with you. Then, for all those times you said your card hand seemed more like a foot, well it just might be one!!

If you have any questions, please call Lynne Anderson at 794-0630.

Friday, February 18th at 10:00 am is the Waterway Book Club Meeting. There’s still time to go to Books-A-Million and get this month’s selection THE LACUNA by Barbara Kingsolver and join in the review and discussion (or you can sit in and just listen!!)

Our second “Coffee and Conversation” gathering will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 24th . It was a great way for folks to meet over a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the many goodies there were. Kathy and Bob Burns have done a great job organizing this and in order to keep it going after they leave us for Northern Climes, we will be looking for others to continue. Any volunteers??

Speaking of which…we can always use a few good men and women for set up and clean up, so please contact Kathy and Bob at

778-6018 to find out where and when you can help. There is a sign-up sheet in the mailroom for this function so we know how many cups, chairs, tables, etc. we will need. ONE NAME PER LINE, PLEASE!!

Please see the attached flyers for more details on these events. The Book Club Notice went out in another e-mail!

If you haven’t noticed, flyers are no longer being taped to the Clubhouse doors. Notices will be posted in the new Glass Enclosed Bulletin Board outside the Mailroom Doors. The Social Committee will continue to post certain notices on their board immediately ahead of you as you enter the mailroom. Soon, a Community Calendar will be posted in the Glass Case as well as continuing online at www.waterwayvillage.info.

As always, I will try to keep the e-mails and directories coming! Thanks for your assistance.
